Lock doors when car is on
I want to be able to start my car and lock my doors and go inside while my car warms up come back out and unlock it with a different key. How can I do this. It is a 99 ex
Here is a suggestion. Why don't you
1. Go make a copy of your door lock key.
2. Put regular keys (I only have one) on one keychain.
3. Use said keychain to crank car.
4. Make sure to have spare door key in hand.
5. Lock doors and go inside with said spare door key in hand.
6. Wait 5-10 minutes.
7. Go back outside with said spare door key in hand.
8. Use said spare door key in hand to unlock the driver side front door.
9. Get in car.
10. Make sure to have car in gear and go.
Problem solved. Easiest fix EVAR!

I can not lock my car with it running. This is the problem I have my car outside in an apartment complex. WIth the doors unlocked. I have been sitting in the window and watching it, I could use this time to pack my lunch.
maybe its a feature, but lemme ask this. do other doors lock except your driver side? just curious, cause i wanted to ask you to try the old-school hold handle up while pushing lock down method. or why not get an auto-starter? no need to go downstairs at all.
when you say your car wont lock, does this mean you are trying to press the button? because i believe at a standstill it locks all doors but yours, and one feature that comes with some is that they lock when u get up to a certain speed. im not really sure about that though, try getting another key, and while the car is started get out and use the key from the outside to lock the car

Yeah I can lock the passenger side when I push down the lock mech. The drivers side pops back up as soon as I push it down. Even if I hold the outside handle or the inside handle. I am going to buy a new car in April so I dont want to put extra money in to it.
