My R was stolen last week, then recovered.
Stripped, not much left. My friends think that posting on HT helped some one locate mine to steal it....maybe not, but who knows. There is no enterior or engine left, and today I was told by the insurance Co. that its a total lose. My car had been vandalized a few times in the last couple of weeks, before the theft. I guess being the only R in a small town doesn't pay....
Any way what should I suspect from the insurance company???? How much will the salvage cost, If I decide to rebuild it? And how much will they pay me for an 01 with 20k? I didn't think theft was an issue in my area, until the cop told me a car a day is stolen where I live....just a warning, no one is safe

I put ----- in place of your city and name just incase you decide to modify your profile, Having that much information a thieve could easily locate you. I would change your city to Blank, Delete your middle and last name, and get a new Email acct that doesnt use your name. Just a suggestion.

But again I don't believe that you were targeted on HT, Most likely someone saw your car and followed you or got your plate # and went to the RMV to get your info.

 

I changed my info....too late. All I can say is that having your car stolen is the biggest hassle you can ever go through. I don't think any one really cares.
