I tried to smog my car today, but was unable to due to my obd2 diagnosstic (sp) port. For some reason, the tech guy could not get a reading from it and told me that the wire might be cut or a fuse is blown. Things I've done since last smog that might have affected this
1. msd ignition
2. a differnce ecu

I checked wires and none were cut, don't know where the fuse(s) are if there is any.

any input/help is apreciated.

 

What ECU did you install? Was it OBD1?

my instrumental like tach, speedometer, temperature everything works.

no, us spec.

What can cause my diagnostic port to malfunction or not have power

 

put back the stock ecu and try smoging it :-D
