makes sure there is power to the s switch on your starter, the wire from ignition or your neutral safety switch relay coud be bad

If its a stick theres also a relay on the left side of the passenger compartment burried behind some other ones for the starter, check your connects on the battery to the starter, you could be making enough of a contact for the cars accesories to come on but not enough for the starter to crank, get a test light and check for power to the second wire to the starter the thin one, its allways possible the starter is bad from sitting or whatever else, you can try tapping it with a hammer while turning the key to check that, it sometimes works if the brushes on the motor are sticking ect.

lol- fuel filter

ok well the motor is obd 1 but i couldnt use the original harness cuz it didnt match up to the plugs on my 92 hatch. so i took a harness from a b16 and used that. i never really had any extra problems after that.... it wasnt the cleanest harness though

i tried a different starter and it still didnt do anything.

now that im thinking... i think there might be something cut off the harness. i didnt try pulling the complete harness from the donor car.
