I guess people have really forgotten how to find things by themselves.

Actually, GearSpeed does have a website. And it wasn't hard to find either: GearSpeed

chances are your car needs a 3-4 shift collar as well. make sure you mention that. otherwise it's just going to wear down the new synchros faster and it's going to feel very light, not the slick, positive Honda gearbox trademark.

yeah, well, nobody else makes/sells those parts. Gear-Speed IS basically a Honda-backed dealer. they sell parts at dealership prices because they work side-by-side with Honda USA. so don't think you're getting a deal that way. only way is to have an "inside man (or woman)" at a dealership .

The biggest advantage to using GearSpeed though is that they will sell just the synchros as opposed to most dealerships that require you to buy the synchro as part of a gear set.

is it normal for in the morning when its a little cold out, for the tranny to be tough to move / go into gear? i notice this when i first get in the car and it usually goes away as the car gets warmed up. can this be fixed or is it just common?

im interested as well..

im looking to buy a 93 gsr and the guy says 2nd gear grinds..

i just got quoted 2 prices this moring from 2 dealers..

all above $225 for the whole set as you said.. I dont mind paying that if thats what it takes..but if all i have to do is replace the sync's, then thats what I would want to do.

GearSpeed looks like a good site..

many times when a honda tranny grinds the shift collar is trash as well as the synchro. it's not that the synchro hurts the collar or anything, it's just that the same action that beats up the synchro beats up the collar and gear at the same time. if you really want it to fee sweet and snick-snick like Honda designed it, most of the time you'll have to replace the collar, synchro, and gear, because the collar beats the other two up and every time the collar beats up the gear the gear beats the collar up. but if you're very nice to your transmission, simply replacing the synchro will get you a bit of sloppy but grindless shift action.
