ROFL
Try a set of BFG drag radials to avoid spinning. Or an LS tranny, if you want you can take my YS1 LS tranny and i can take you b16 tranny .

B16 transmissions have exteremely short 1st gears, I don't really understand how you have no power in 1st.. Are you positive its a B16 tranny?
Harness has nothing to do with transmission gearing.

It would be slipping more in 2nd than in 1st.....
What speed are you going at 8k rpm in 1st gear?
Where rpm do you shift at, and what is the rpm drop to 2nd?

the clutch grips pretty good. i'm going to try what you guys were saying. my tires grip good, but i'm just going to test it out. i'm going to borrow some slicks and see if thats the problem.

Re: how do i get more power for my 1st gear (Black R)
my first gear goes up to 40mph, and the rpm drops around i'd say some were between 5-6k rpm, and i shift around 8100k

in that case, 1st gear is NOT your problem.
What is your launch technique and rpm?
Try launching at 3k and see how that feels.....

correct me if I am wrong, but don't all b-series manual transmissions have the same 1st gear?

Re: how do i get more power for my 1st gear (AllMotoRex)
the reason 2nd gear picks up so fast is because when your shifting from 1st to 2nd, your already in vtec when you shift into 2nd. (Almost). When you are at close to 8k, and pull a quick shift into 2nd, your rpms are gonna already be between 45 and 5. vrec kicks in at 5.2 for you i believe which means you dont have to deal with the lag bullshit before vtec. Your already there. It is hard to explain, but does anyone know what i mean? If you were to launch from around 4.5 or 5, your get a killer launch and 1st would pull harder than 2nd, but thats a great way to burn out your clutch. Thats just my .2.

no, obviously the final drives are all diferent on different trannys but the b17 tranny actually had a shorter first (not that you would really want that, they sell taller firsts from ATS for a reason)
