just swapped my eg w/ b18c1.
Sup, just got my swap into my 95 dx. Its a 96 b18c1 with an LSD b16 hydro tranny. The motor came with a skunk 2 intake manifold, prelude throttle body, b16 cams, sage 4 clutch, and lightweight flywheel. Paid $2,500 for it. Wondering if the b16 cams are better than the b18c1 cams in this setup. Also the header doesnt matchup to the cat and it sounds like there is an exhaust leak. I have an Apex N1 exhaust and was wondering what i should do. (The cat matches up to the exhaust but the header outlet is bigger than the cat). Any info would help, wondering if i got a good deal??? I'm not sure about the ecu, i think it is a bull frog with no rev limiter. What type of options do i have to replace this? Also, what type of intake would work in this motor. It has the skunk 2 intake manifold with the prelude throttle body in my 95 dx coupe. I want to get a short ram but dont know which application to get. thanks
wow.....so much to decifer through in only 8 lines of writing...
let me read.....

to answer the question on the cams..
to the best of my knowledge..i believe the gsr cams would of actually been better with the gsr head..but its not that big of a deal to even matter...get some itr cams or stage 1's
to answer teh question on the header and the cat not matching up
clearly you have a d-series cat on your car...you obviously need a B series one...its obvious on that...you coulda answered that question....a.k.a go buy a new cat
to answer the question of whether you got a good deal..if you got what you said you got...then yes its a good deal...considering stock swaps are still going for around 3k shipped it seems fair...but you almost have to assume the motor has been ripped on since it has $ put into it...unlike a new motor from Hmotors would proboly be mint.
the ecu problem....i don't understand what you wanna know....go buy a stock obd1 GSR ecu if thats what you need 130 bucks or so.
the intake mani problem...and prelude tb...i don't know how big a prelude tb is...but ethier sell it and buy an ITR one or just go stock GSR...and buy a 3inch short ram off ebay...or go for a lil bit of the bling and get the password power chamber as i am very fond of that intake
they make it for the EG chassis
as of the skunk2 mani...i've seen that mani lose countless races against the stock dual stage mani with only bolt on GSR's...if you plan to build the head and what not then i'd keep it....hell i'd keep it anyway as intake's and what not are stupid on the stock mani...
hope i helped

thanks for the info. with the exhaust, I know i need to buy a b series cat, but will it matchup with the rest of the exhaust. It is an N1 that came off a 98 civic. Will i need to buy a new exhaust? If so, for what chassis. Thanks for the info though, very helpful.
