HOW TO CHECK FOR CODES
i have a 98 accord lx. my check engine lights stays on. i want to check the codes but can't seem to find the jumper harness similar to other hondas. so i thought its different in accords or obd2 cars. so my question is how do i check the codes in a 98 accord lx? thanks
check behind the ashtray, should slide right out
the jumper to make the CEL flash should be a blue plug tucked back underneath the glove box
this is how my 96 EX is but I believe yours should be the same

Here you go:
Location of service connector and which pins to jump:

the plug is trapazoidal and not rectangular. the tapered side (shorter side) should be facing towards the center of the dash.
in other words, if you're looking at the plug as 2 columns of terminals, #8 is the second column, very bottom. #13 is the first column, 4th from the bottom.
just turn my crude little picture clockwise 90 degrees, and that should be what it looks like.
the plug is just a few inches away from the hood release.

Your DLC connectior location should be printred right under the steering column.
If you take youre car to Advance Auto or somewhere like that they may pull the code free, I forget who does that. Don't attempt to jump any connectors unless your SURE what your doing. You can easily fry a computer if you jump the wrong connector.
