car starts, wont stay started if i let key go!!
1994 Honda Accord EX 4 door
mostly stock besides audio and suspension
Ok - problem started yesterday, while i came to a stop at a light, car died. no stalling noises, no chugging, just off. after 5mins of cranking, it started back up again. not 2 km down the street, just right off again. Thought it was gas gauge, dad came and filled me up 1/4 tank, still no go. car would crank and fire, but would quickly turn off again.
At this point after some fiddling, i figured out if i keep the key in the START position, the car will stay on. So, i drove it home this way. Now, i've done some research, and figured it was my main relay, but when i turn the key over, i do hear it click.
Last thing i should mention, when the car is being turned over, the accessories (air, stereo) are off until i release the key just a tiny bit, at which point they will turn back on. when i release the key some more back to the RUN position, back off it goes.
I hope this explains the whole problem, if i should add any more, please request.
thank you very much

Just FYI I would definately stay away from parts store ignition switches. Those arent any good. You need this from your dealer. It may cost a little more but it's going to be the last one you buy. As far as a recal you can give me your VIN # and i'll be able to look it up for you. But i'm pretty sure the recall is above your year.
Most Honda's will get a new ignition switch one time in it's life.
