Like I told ya guys at the track, these are unfortunately hard to find now. I just kept watching the classifieds on HT and finally found one after a few months. The second time I needed one, I only needed rods and a crank and that proved even harder to find than the motor.
Good luck with your search guys.

He is running a race class people... ie: only certain parts are allowed... i'm going to bet his only replacement choice is a STOCK d16y8.
Beyond that... i know of none around my area... try importautosalvage.com they are a good US based legit motor reseller.

He could use any D-series now to get licensed, right? Even if the car is classified as H1, use whatever you can for the time being until you find the proper one.

Very good point, class isn't an issue... just getting a clean day and license.
