How hard is it to change a rack and pinion?
my friend needs her rack and pinion changed.. she has a 97 acura CL 2 dr.
how hard would it be? could I do it using jackstands? or does the car need to be on a lift?

Its really easy to do with the engine out of the car. You can do it on jack stands but you're gonna need some help. You're gonna have to unhook the power steering, steering column, and tie rods form the knuckle. It's putting it back in thats a pain in the ***.
its not that difficult, its just ******* annoying to do.
I've done it to my prelude 2 times already, and i just got some jack stands and a friend to help me. it can be done in a few hours. Just make sure to put everything back together in the order you took it apart. you dont wana expletive up there man.

its for my friends Acura 2.3 CL. The engine is gonna be in the car, so if i just follow a book (if there's one out there) should i be ok?
Im more worried about installation. Any tips on how to install?
