Default is it bad to out in 5 qts of oil??

well i got a b18c5 and was wondering if puttin in 5 ats of oil is bad? i know it wont break a motor but i was just wonderin oh the hard facts of doing this. iam askin (call me weird or stupid) because everytime i change the oil i just pour in 5 qts cuz i dont feel like saving 1/2 a qt.

will start to smoke really bad if you over fill it to much...i think it's called floating the rings

well the only bad thing that i can see is that there is more oil in the block , which is then higher up closer to the crank. So when the crank is spinning , it has to move through more oil. But i dont think .5 quarts should be that big of a problem. Hope this helps...

you dont wanna put too much oil in your motor. this will create more oil pressure and could cause future problems. i say you go by the specs and dont worry about the extra oil left over. i would rather do that than have a broke motor. and you have a C5? you of all ppl should be more careful.

you dont have to save the oil. you can get rid of it.
