Hello all,
You guys always come through when i need help so here i am once again.
I recently put a motor in my 97 honda civic hatch. I used a obd1 d15b vtec motor, with the obd2a engine harness. The distributor and alternator were re-wired to match the harness but obd2a ecu and injectors were used.
The car turns over just fine but once i give it gas, it wants to choke. It never does, but it really sounds like it wants to. I think this is eather the map sensor or dizzy (i was also told that i should use an obd1 ecu with a jumper harness)
Its possible that the dizzy was wired wrong but i dont think the car would even turn over if this was the case.
The check engine light also blinks constantly. Tommorow i will try to get a code from the CEL.
Any help will be greatly appreciated, thanks guys!

You can have something wired wrong in the wiring of the dizzy, and the car would still start. I have seen in the past with people trying to do their wiring were the car would start, give it gas, it would shut off. Or it would work fine until about 3k then it would have all types of problems.
The issue you are having is that the OBD2 ECU can't find TDC. The OBD2 has that sensor on the oil pump/crank which you are now not using.
The easiest fix, get the obd1 conversion harness and ecu.
