Default I searched... ideal welder for turbo exhaust manifold

MIG or TIG? Argon?

Don't need stainless steal at this point.. just regular 16g mild steel.

Thanks

mig will work (bailhatch makes them) but tig is better. Simply read a little bit in here and you will learn a lot.

I use a big ol Miller TIG now ...but yes mig will work fine if you cut a deep chamfer and get a good technique (gravity is your friend).

cut a little edge in the metal so you can weld in that like wedge o say this represents your flange______ and this is the piping for the manifold |

| |
| |
_______|_____| _____

if the pipe wasnt chanfered that is what it would look lik sitting agains the flange

what you want is

| |
| |
| |
_________\________/__

see the little edge there? its where you want your weld to be penatraiting

i cant spell lol but hope fully that helps

*edit* damn it it wont let show it how i want it to but hope fully you can get the point lol *edit*

what is wrong with using 16g? schedule 10 is more than enough. sch 40 is just too heavy i find and it holds a lot of heat.
