It will run but you will most likely break a spring, valve, retainer etc.

The BVTEC swing rocker arm configuration is a variable ratio rocker that requires a asymmetrical lobe (that's whay they are "D" shaped) to induce symmetrical or near symmetrical valve motion. Swaping it around would be like putting the left shoe on the right foot.

Good analogy about the shoes.

I think we all understand better now.

You wouldn't happen to know the range of ratios, would you?

For a BVTEC Mid Rocker the ratio goes from 1.xx to 1.55 for profiles that have a stock base circle and less than 0.493" lift.

Increasing the base circle over stock or having more than 0.493" lift will allow the lobe to contact closer to the pivot point of the rocker. This can get you up to 1.6x rocker ratio when you are near max lift.

not to mention the distrubuter would not fit into the intake cam because there isnt a slot for the distrubuter in the end of the intake cam.....

You mean exhaust cam.

But what about the nonvtec engines, as their rocker ratios are 1.75:1 on both intake and exhaust?

Im not asking about switching them, but more or less what if you were to use 2 intake cams in the head.

I've done it before on a B16 using Crower springs/retainers. I put a Skunk2 Stage 1 intake cam in the intake side and the stock intake cam in the exhaust side. I had to use adjustable cam gears and place the "exhaust" cam several teeth (can't remember how many) off in order for it to work. It ran pretty damn good with no issues, but was only assembled as such for two weeks before I sold the S2S1 intake cam and replaced both with CTR cams so I can't comment on long term reliability.
