Front end and mild rear end shake
I have 94 accord and lately i've been experiencing a shaking feeling that kinda starts in the steering wheel and then you could feel it in the seat. The tires have been balanced, and rotated. I have freshly rebuilt axles and a new wheel bearing. I noticed last night if you drive at about 3k rpms in 3rd gear then shift to 5th and bring it up to 3k rpms the shaking is at the same intensity. It onlys starts to shake badly as you increase speed. Does anyone have any ideas??
I'll make three (Sic) Four suggestions. You'll have to re-examine what I'm suggesting, then we'll take it from there.
1) Broken Tire Belt (Out-of-Round Tire) (Either Front or Rear Vibration)
2) Worn Tie Rod Ends (either Inner or Outer) (Front Vibration)
3) Tire Balance (Either Front or Rear Vibration)
4) Grossly Warped Brake Rotors (Front Vibration) But you'd alsso feel these when stopping.
Generally speaking, If you feel the vibration in the steering wheel; it's in the front.
If you feel it in the seat; it's in the rear.

Ya i have to check the upper ball joints.. Last night i had my friend take a ride in my car and he had me take my car into a parking lot. He said he did this with his supra to diagnose a problem... He had me do 15mph around the parking lot while he sat on the battery in my engine bay. I suspected that my drivers side mount may be the problem and he said the engine was moving badly. Could the drivers side mount cause as much shaking as i'm experiencing?
NO......it is not the left upper mount,,u got other issues ..is the shake at low speeds?? 15 -25?? if so you got a separated belt in the tire,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,.I would follow p_adams suggestions ,, did this happen after u did any work?? or has it been there all along?? or did it just come about??

Ya the shake is at lower speeds and gradually gets worse. I was told i have a defective tire in the rear when i got my wheels balanced. But i figured that had to do with the rear end shaking.

Sorry to hi-jack but damn......I'm at 117k on original balljoints......and they're pretty much gone.... =x The second rant I have with Honda.....not having removable upper balljoints. The first rant is about the 90-97 rotor/hub/bearing assembly..but I'd rather leave that one alone or else I'd go on about it all night...

I agree...not just GM but Fords also with their balljoint issues...anywho...the upper ball joint being a single unit isn't as bad, considering it is a wearable part, and the whole assembly comes with new control arm bushings...which is another essential part for your suspension
The cost for a new one does kinda suck, but if it gets me pass 100k miles im well satisfied.
Those damn hub assemblys are a pain the rear...

Damn, I didn't even look at it that way. Nice thinking there.

You have either a trusting friend or a stupid one. Not saying you are bad driver but that is unsafe considering you are diagnosing a Problem with your car.

Hey if you're reading this will you post what you actually found as the problem.
I'm going through the exact same thing with my 94 Accord. I'm in the process of replacing the tie-rod ends, right drive axle, rack & pinion, all bushings (probably need to do that upper ball joint itself, or.. ahem the control arm). I even had the tire issue a few months back. The rear right tire friggin blew right out the sidewall on the inside.
At any rate I noticed you talking of the exact same symptoms in the exact same vehicle. It would be nice to know if you actually isolated the problem since I'm just going after everything in need of work (up front at the time anyway).
