2000 accord "brakelamp" on
hey my gf has a 2000 accord v6 coupe and the red brakelamp is on.. and NO its not the e-brake light.. so i was thinking maybe its just time to check the brakes.. but anyways anyone know? hit me up.. thanks you all guys and girls..
Might be the brake fluid level, brakes are probably due for maintenance.
I think when the pads begin to wear down, the fluid in the reservoir needs to fill up the space behind those caliper pistons..
Inspect the lines, the reservoir, the pads..you know the drill..
..and good luck, hope this was of some help

I'm sorry, perhaps I've misunderstood you. Are you speaking of the ABS light?
There are others who are much more qualified to answer if this is the case!

The 'brakelamp' light at the bottom of the little car symbol, the one that lets you know the doors are open, that means you have a brake lamp that is out. The e-brake light previously mentioned alerts you of either e-brake engagment, or low brake fluid. Even if you don't see any lights out, you're not done. The bulbs used in these accords are dual filament, meaning in the same bulb, one filament burns as your parking lights, and the other lights to show that you are braking. If the 'braking filament' in the bulb is out, then you will not see it just by looking by yourself. The solution is to have someone apply the brakes and let you check out your lights. That should quickly pinpoint the problem bulb.

e-brake light = low brake fluid
e-brake light = low brake fluid
Also... The sensor that detects a burned-out brakelight bulb can sometimes be a llittle too sensitive. If your brakelight bulbs don't match each other, it can set off that warning.
It's supposed to warn of a brakelight that's burned out, but sometimes it just means the wattage doesn't match from side-to-side. This can even be caused by corrosion in the bulb sockets. It's even possible to force a bulb into the socket backwards. Then the lower-wattage taillight filament is in the brakelight circuit.
On my '98 4-door, this sensor is built into the left-side taillight cluster. Check for dirty or corroded contacts at that sensor module?

ind33d, nonetheless you're looking at at a tail-lamp problem.

ooops sorry i read it wrong if it is the brake lamp indicatior than it has nothing to do with ur brakes or low fluid,, it has to do with bulbs or wiring ,
wheww.. thanks a lot AFAccord, Jimblake, and deserthonda.. that just might be all the info that i need so i can diagnos this problem and fix it.. thank you all. i'll post back up if i can't find a solution.
