Default Make sure your hood latches!

So I'm driving along on my way to work, travelling about 60-70 MPH when all of a sudden I hear a bang and can't see the road in front of me. Turns out my hood popped open, snapping the passenger side hinge in the process, hits the windshield, falls off to the driver's side bending my mirror as it scrapes against the road and then somehow pops back up and finally rests on my windshield. I had to bungee the damn thing down once I pulled over to keep it from flying off and hitting another car. Luckily there are numberous 88-91 Civics at the local U-Pull-It that I can get a hood from and my dad has a friend that can get me a windshield for $120 installed. But damn...I'm lucky I didn't run off the road or have the hood fly off and hit someone else. Take this as a warning to make sure your hood is secure. I know I will. If anyone wants to see pics, I can post em once I download from my camera.

Same thing happened to me 2 week ago. I was driving down the road shifting into third gear and whammmm! My damn hood flew open. Smashed my windshield and messed up my hood. I bought a new windshield+molding+installed for $205 Then I come to find out my friend could of got me the same deal for $150
My hood looks like this now. The big dents are from me and my friend trying to kick the damn hood closed, unfortunately I bent my new valance in the process. My friend missed my hood and kicked the valance

Yeah the dent in my roof is from my hood flying open about a month ago. Wish EF hoods opened oposite direction like some other hondas. I think old preludes or accords have reverse latched hoods.

I replaced a sun roof for a kid on his DA because his hood flew up and broke his windshield then bent and also broke his sunroof because of improperly installed hood pins.
