Default NEED HELP!! Y8 MANI!! NO MASS AIR FLOW SENSOR??

i bought a y8 mani from ebay and it just got here today, it doesnt have a spot for the masss air flow sensor! WHY???? dont i need that? its going on a d15b7

hondas dont use a mass air flow sensor.. that would explain why your y8 manifold doesnt have one.

oh i thought that was what its called, its the sensor right behind the manifold, that have 2 crews holding it in and a screen in the middle of it with matches up to a hole in the mani, the d15b7 had a spot for it.

That's the IACV and it sounds like you have an automatic Y8 manifold.

Idle Air Control Valve, and yes, you need it. Your only options are to drill and tap the bosses on the back of the manifold to accept the IACV, or get a manual Y8 manifold.

yeah the 99 will fit it just has some extra holes you need to plug at the end of each runner for the cold start assist and one or two nipples you need to cap off.

Ideally you want a 96-98 manual y8 intake those are pretty much a straight bolt on.

its hard to explain, it matches the studs to the head but it wont sit flush against the head. the bottom of the runners are to tall and it hits a little ridge on the head.
