Default Help with LCA & strut

so the otherday i swereved to avoid a guy but hit the crub instead. I hit it at like maybe a 45 angle. My rim (steelie) is bent, and the tire isn't in the center of the wheel housing, it's more towards the back. I'm told i have a bent axle, I hear knocking/ticking/brushing sounds while slowing down. My alignment is fucked and the car vibrates along with the steering wheel when i drive.

My question is how much do you think it'll cost to fix it all? I drive a 2000 ex

Anyone have DIY tips? diagrams would really be helpful.

Most likely you bent your lower A arm. Your bearing could also be messed up and so could the upper a arm. The only way to tell is to take it appart and visually inspect it. I'd say about $300.

The wheel wobbles when i drive would that stop if i got a new wheel? Mechanic says its the lower control arm, strut fork.

is that a DIY job? what's the level of difficulty? can it be done in one afternoon?

sounds like more than just your wheel. im sure youd still have major alignment problems, even if you got a new wheel. that is totally a diy job, but if you havent done it before, allow yourself the whole day to do it.

everything is pretty self explanatory down there...and im sure there are plenty of write ups on h-t alone to get you through it

also would getting a new wheel help with the bumps? it feels like im rolling over a bump everytime i accelerate, I know it wont fix the alignment and steering wheel shake, but would you think it would help the bumps?

also what are the adverse effects of driving my car in this condition, other than tire wear?

could my sway bar be bent too? if so shoould i just swap both LCA's for the Si's so i can put a bigger sway bar in?

haha sorry for all the questions.

You need to get under the car and look at the damage from the bottom side. Bc I'm sure there more damage then what the mechanic said. I bet you bent the lower subframe. I did the same thing to my civic and my subframe was screwed. So you might wanna check it out
