yeah.. that's why they put those labels: "disconnect battery before working around certain areas..blah blah since the airbags could deploy"

My old POS legend had the airbags go off when my car got hit with a basketball!!!!

mine didnt even deploy in my coupe when i hit a guardrail at about 65mph and bent the front driverside frame rail in about 5 inches.

Airbags are set off by an accelerometer. Depending on how fast you accelerate or decellerate (by hitting something or being hit) is what sets the bags to deflate.

Of course, there have been some weird things go on with them at any rate.
