speedo not working
We just but a b16 in a 90 crx dx and took it for a test run and the speedometer was not working. Because the speedo was not working, I didn't expect vtec to work either but it does. I've double checked the cable going into the tranny and it seems to be in there snug. We are not throwing the VSS code either. Your thoughts???
cable is all the way in. I have vtec. I start seeing the speedo working when Im doing about 60-70mph but it only reads as if Im going 10mph. I'll take it up to around 80mph and it will read 30mph. I checked the blue wire on the dizzy and its pushed in. What else should I be looking at.

LoL. No doubt.
Here at PIR it's $20 to race all night!
Sucks to hear about that ticket. That's a lot of money.

speedometer and v-tec is a complete different thing . . the speedometer is being controlled by the VSS ( Vehicle Speed Sensor ) which indicates what ur MPH/Kilometers wether the engine is electrical or cable, also if the clusters are cable or electrical, then v-tec ( Variable valve Timing Electronic Control lift ) is engine based which ignites when the engine reaches a certain RPM ( revolutions per minute )

ACTUALLY... In the newer cars, vtec depends on a few conditions. Not all of these are new, but besides the fact that it required a certain RPM, it now requires that the car be going faster than ~20 MPH, that oil pressure be good, that the car is warmed up, and that the throttle position is greater than around 80%. Just FYI. I guess in the old ones speed wasn't a requirement, but that's where he was coming from.
