if speedo cable is not pluged into transmission,, Will VTEC work??
here's the deal my VTEC on my B16a1 will not work,, I got a fault code 17 and 23
also right now im trying to get my speedo cable plugged back in... is any body out there that can help????/

I can tell you that your VTEC should work, even without the speedo.
But the speedo would explain your fault 17. code 23 is what? Knock sensor?

what do you need help on? There's nothing to it when plugging the cable in. Just make sure the cable is plugged into the speedometer & tranny. And make sure it doesn't come lose by wiggling it.
Vtec will not work without the speedo. The computer will go into limp mode and kill Vtec activation if there is no speed reading. In order for vtec to work the computer must pickup a few things and speed is one of them.
