Default 95 honda accord help///<<dumb girl w/ a car

question...
so my car when i first start her up doesnt want to go anymore, like she kinda sits there then takes off, well i fiqured that it just needs to warm up, well lately its getting worse, say i will drive her around, park do my thing somewhere, come back to the car, start it up, go, and it doesnt want to go....its like it doesnt like the gas pedal...i m changing the spark plugs to see if maybe that will help, any other suggestions...o and i dont think its the O2 censor cause the check engine light doesnt come on...O and she also back fires sometimes when i try to get to go, i fiqured shes just running rich or i am flooding it...anyways. any suggestion will help.

Definitely fuel related. How long since you changed the fuel filter??? Cleaned the fuel system???

ehhh.... doesn't sound right. But you're supposed to change it every tune-up. Run some fuel system cleaner through your next tank of gas and see if it improves.

Sounds like jittery injectors. I agree with the fuel cleaner.

happened to my sister's car...the mech took out the distributor cap and showed us that it's misfiring. he also said that it could be the fuel pump that wasnt working so we got both replaced as a precaution and it works fine...could be either of those.

Automatic?
Could it be discribed as putting the Trans in gear, and you have to wait for it to hook up??

Yes, sounds like she is describing a transmission problem to me. Hard to tell what won't go means though.

i'm thinking transmission problem with the description of having to warm up. Althought the misfiring causes concern. I'd say change the fuel filter and check into the possible misfiring. If needed get the ignition timing checked as well as the usual spark plugs/wires and distributor cap/rotor. Could be VTEC, although that would flip CEL wouldn't it? With the screen name I'm guessing its a V6 but not sure...

And halaboy I'd say your sister more than likely got hella ripped off. Fuel pump job couldn't have been cheep and from my understanding fuel pumps are pretty much a pass/fail type of thing where they either work or they don't. Could have been an injector too, without more info I'm not entirely convinced it was fuel related period (maybe injectors). Unless it was majorly stalling and gasping for fuel I'd say it was spark related. Not a personal attack but sounds like a greedy mechanic.
