after finding out what a headache it would be to put my 94 gsr in an ek i have decided to look for an eg. i have never done a swap before so i dont know much. ive got the entire gsr swap, the front end was untoushed. so my question is- what do i need to do this conversion? motor mounts, ecu, harness, axels, shift linkage, and anything else that has to be done to do the swap. thanks in advance!

just did- so i will use a 92-95 ex or si engine harness, and say i get a non-92 car, i will have to wire the ecu harness for vtec. when i do this i just run a wire from the ecu pin for vtec to the plug and it should work? thats what i got from the thread but i just want to make sure. also i will be using a skunk 2 intake manifold, so does this mean i would wire it for a an r motor without the dual butterflies? (only one wire for the vtec solenoid in plug A instead of the 2 for the gsr) or do i still need to run EVAP and IAB wires beacuase it is still a gsr motor? i couldnt find any info on wiring for the single stage intake mani on the gsr and want to know exactly what im doing- thanks again
You can use the stock harness from the civic or the gsr harness. do not run iab because you no longer have it and run the knock sensor. vtec is three wires, 2 to the ecu and one ground. Everything else is direct bolt in just like it was stock. All models in 92 are prewired.

alright so i CAN use my gsr engine harness? this will plug into the existing ecu haness in the civic? if this is the case why am i seeing "use ex or si harness" evrywhere?
i AM running the ks and evap along with vtec just not the IAB right?
also, to wire the plug, should i just use sections of wire from the gsr ecu harness the run the vtec ks and evap wires from a and d plugs to the connector plug? id assume this would make it easier cause they have pins already right? and when i go to do this there should be empty spots in the ecu and the plug where the wires are supposed to go? the pictues show where the vtec wires go in the connector plug but not the ks and evap. do they even go thorugh the plug or do they run spereatly to thier sensors?

Here check this:

Also yes use the Gs-R harness. Even the OBD2 type harness plugs right in. I should know since I'm running a 1998 Type R engine with its harness in my 1992 Civic with no major wiring whatsoever.

Well then forget the IAB then.

What ECU?
Excatly what year and model/trim level is the Civic?
In my 1992 Civic I plug and played a 1998 ITR swap with the use of its engine harness and a rechipped P28 ECU.
I say go P28 with Uberdata/Crome - this way you don't even have to wire the knock, and you can have it tuned to your exact set-up.

ok so ill use my gsr engine harness AND ecu and ecu harness? this will work in the civic? if this is the case then that sweet cuz ill just be swithcin EVRYHTING over right? i dont have the money to run anything special so i will have to be using the ks.
If you're running the skunk2 manifold then ditch the P72 ECU - it will run like **** with that ECU unless you run the stock IAB-equipped GS-R manifold.
If you have no access to any Uberdata tuners in your area then at least start with a Kenji P28:
kenji211@tampabay.rr.com
Contact him for a P28 "Type R" program - it's the ****. My i/h/e B18C5 pulled 175/130ft-lbs. of torque with his ECU and a V-AFC piggybacked/tuned.

alright well how much will that run me? also, will i have to use, say a hasport subharness to use the ecu in the civic because of dash related plugs or will those plug right in to the new ecu

No.
The P28 ECU is OBD1, so it plugs right in.

Why is it such a pain to do a swap into an EK? The only advantage is that you dont need a drivers motor mount and it can be a bit harder to get it BARed if the motor is jdm. I am almost ready to get my EK /w B18C gsr swap BARed and the worst has just been the getting it legal. If I was not getting it legal it would be cake.
1. You can use most of your civic mounts and the teg drivers side mount 2. gsr ECU 3. You use your civic harness and adapt it to the gsr motor. 4. integra axles that came with the swap. 5. integra shift linkage.
lol you are worried about doing one of the simplest swaps in the civic...

im not making it hard- i dont know anything about the swap.... how is someone supposed to learn without asking questions and having experience..... there are plenty of people on here that can give me the info i need to do it- and im not one to pay someone else for something im perfectly able to do with a little research thats all. i just want to make sure i know exactly what needs to be done so i dont screw anything up. now that i know what i need its not hard at all.
