Default "rumbling" at 30mph - 97 civic

Hi...another question for you all. Again, I have a 97 civic ex.

Lately, I've been noticing when I travel at roughly 30mph (light touch on accelerator to maintain speed), I occasionally get a "rumbling" feeling from the front end....similar to that when you drive over rumble strips. It doesn't happen always, but this seems to happen at 30mph and mild acceleration.

I'm wondering if this is transmission? My dad thought it was something with a tire buldge? I'm at a loss.

Thanks for any help you can offer.

Few things to check:

-Alignment
-Tires for buldges like you mentioned or maybe get them balanced
-something bent in suspention

That should get you started.

Also, If you think its the trans try going that speed (30mph you said) in different gears and see what happend. Like try gears 2, 3, 4 and even neutral if possible. Maybe that would shed some light on something.

Hmm i have a 00 4 door automatic... similar to yours i guess...
does it sound like a tranny problem or suspension problem?
because the way your describing it.. the "rumbling strip" noise...
Probably it's the ride feeling/alignment =X
