Default Swapping Valves - Do I need to redo the head's valve job?

I have a B16 head with a street competition stage done by Joe Alaniz. It has a full Skink2 valve train and Type r valves. I'm switching over to a Rocket valve train and m22xx cams and I wanted to install a set of Supertech flat faced valves which are the ones Omniman used in his 200hp B16 build.

My question is if I have to have the valve seats re-done with the new valves? The head hasn't seen much use so there isn't much contact wear - I don't know if this is factor or not.

Thanks!

you should get the valves face cut and a valve job so they match properly.

will also give you a lot better flow

unless your head already has a valve job...then i would just get the valves faced to match

Get the valves faced - do I have to go to the original guy who did the valve job? He's in CA and I'm in Puerto Rico!

Get the Supetech vavles from me and I'll have the nitride ground off of the face.

Then lightly lap into your head. Bingo, done and ready to go.

I decided not to swap the valves since the bump in compression is not worth hassle/money unless it's done with other upgrades like pistons...

Hey Rocket,

I got a quote from Aquafina for an RM valve train and M22xx camshaftsbut read SOMEWHERE that you offer a custom chip and even free spark plugs. Who is the dealer that offers this combo – or is it you? Aquafina quoted me (price is in the email I just sent you) for the valvetrain/camshaft combo…

Check your PM again. All cam/VT packages include chip and plugs no matter who you get it from.
