Default Weird rumbling sound? please help!

hey im jarod and im new to this forum and i have a question. i have an automatic 5th gen prelude and when i am coasting at a slow speed, or even if i rev my engine to about 3 grand then let off, i hear this deep rumbling noise. to get a better idea...say you take an empty 2 liter soda bottle and put some marbles in there then wrap a blanket around it then shake it. you get the picture? anyways i have had the valves adjusted and that did not help. i still cant figure out what it is. anyone have this problem or know what is causing it? any info would help. thanks.

Maybe you don't have the recommended gas (premium?)

that could definately be it. i switched to the cheap stuff when the prices went up. you think its too late to go back using premium? or is something all messed up now

It's your auto tensioner. Go get it fixed/replaced NOW before it messes up your timing belt. Oh, and it's now proven premium gas isnt any better than normal gas as far as being good for your car. Your cars are built to run on any of these types of octanes without one being better than the other.

It Has Not Been Proven Unless You Are Reading The Charts Byestly. You Can Use Any Type Of Octane, However All Modern Day Cars Have What Is Called A Knock Sensor. That Will Automatically Advance Or Retard The Timing To A Slight Degree.
Most Cars Are Optimized For A Specific Octane Rating And The Knock Sensor Varies From That Level.l H22's Happen To Be Optimized For An Octane Of 91. I Would Stick With 91 And Pay And Extra $10 a Month.(per 1200miles per month and 91 being 20 cents More Per Gallon
