Default ARE ALL D SERIES PARTS COMPATIBLE?

I know this is a total noob question......but that is pretty much what I am.

I have a d16y7 (i think, thats the dx one right?) Anyway, I also have a d16z6 intake manifold.......will I need to buy a vtec head first or can I use this IM in the meantime?

oh.....clarification: the motor is in my car.....and the IM is in my closet...

D16Y7 is a DX engine yes. The Z6 manifold should fit, as long as its a manual (assuming you drive a manual). Somebody kick me (and correct the misinformation) if there is something wrong here.

the manifold will fit but your d16y7 throttle body wont. you will need a z6 or y8 TB.

i did the swap from the y7 to the z6 monifold u need your throttle and all your sensors. or else it will not run rite it'll start to bog out and it becomesa big hastle but keep your throttle body and ur senous when u changing your manifold.

bump for some help....

also, my exhuast mani on my d16y7 is cracked, plus it has that gay cat right on it......I want to replace it with something that will not restrict the air flow (i'd prefer something oem). My car is registered in southern utah where they don't do emisions to register it.

a 50$ ebay header will outflow a oem header by far, but a y8/z6 is fine.. waste of time imho

D-series is more like Honda's version of the 2bbl 305. The B18-series is the 350, the B16-series is like the 305 H.O., the H22 is the 454, the K20 is the 427 and the K24 is the 502 .

I've covered this in many posts . Good call on the analogy though .

Thats a great little analogy but it was kinda random......so heres another little random nugget :

.....It doesn't matter if you win by an inch or win by a mile.....winnings winning.
