Default well MIR today.. not good!

well today i went to the track.. got like 3 runs in
first run was 15.4 at 88.. then i ran a 15.3 at 89.. then the last run at 15.6 85 MPH i am SOOO pissed.. i feel the car can do SOO much better
mods include
CM3 clutch
moded air box
dc sports 4-2-1 header
greddy exhaust
on crappy street tires on the 15.6 i wa at 12 PSI in both tires
but the 15.3 i was at 20psi.. i wanna brek into the 14's with just street tires and the mods i have now a few people said they have done it.. but a 15.0 was the fastest the guy that did my motor swap said he saw a street tire EF9 go i dunno if those people are telling the truth or if it is jus MEE THE DRIVER! i was dumping the car bout 3 grand..i dunno but will somebody let me in on the 14 sec time frame!

okay are you running full interior??? Cuz if no than you should be able to break into the 14's on street easy. I hit a 14.7 almost bone stock with just intake in the b16a and removed all the seats but driver. My friend with a 4dr and b16a hit 15.10 almost bone stock with intake all seats removed but driver too. And these runs were on some shitty street tires you find at like fred meyer. So it is possible. Now my best is 14.4 with vtec controller cai, and chipped ecu. So i say you might need some practice, and 12 psi for your tires is way too low.

But if you are running full interior i say take off .3 from your best time, cuz that's about how much the added weight will take off from the torqueless b16a.

ya there are a lot of factor that can play when you run. Your tires might be really shitty. can you drive well. How many times have you been to the track?

point being that you can improve the time alot. How long have you been driving with the b16a.

My brother's 88 CRX Si ran a 14.87 with a JDM B16A, stock CRX exhaust, stock exhaust manifold, stock intake, stripped interior, one seat; so you should be able to knock off a few tenths. He doesn't even have an LSD, or performance clutch. try feathering the clutch instead of "dumping it" until the tires hook. My bro launches his CRX at 2,500 rpm. Sounds like you're spinning too much off the line. What are your 60 ft. times?

By the way, don't even bother deflating your tires. Street tires don't hook better at lower than norm PSI. It made no diff when I deflated mine. They still spun

Hmm...

Those 60 ft's sound a little high. I run in the 2.2-2.3 second range with my d16a6 CRX, with dunlop d60a2 tires. Once you work out your launch, you'll be screaming!

JDMb16a, you said you're shifting at 7800rpm?? Shift at 8. It keeps the engine in the power band longer. I've heard that stock B16's happily rev to 8200 rpm, but I wouldn't take it higher than 8.

Don't worry... It took quite a few runs for my best time too (16.1 so don't feel so bad... compared to me you're screaming)

no you should shift at redline although you are losing power you are still accelerating, and when you hit the next gear you will have more power than if you shifted earlier.

Hey man. Cool that you were at mission. How much is the entrance fee for a test and tune? I'm thinking of going tomorrow if it's clear (and cheap).

The guy who did the swap is BSing. I'm a street tire EF9 and I went 14.8 w/ stock intake, exhaust, headers.

BTW your tire pressure is too low. Don't go below 28psi on streets, it's just adding rolling resistance down the track.

Hey, I went to Capitol Raceway on Fri nite and it was NICE with plenty of bimbos.

My Civic is a 1991 Civic EX with a JDM b16a and some goodies like ITR cams and AEM CAI, Portflow head, etc. Best run with slicks was 14.09 @ 98.98 mph (my car is heavy @ 2570+ with me in it. Launch @ 8k, shift was at 9250 xpt 1-2 which has bad synchro and was at 7k....

dont worry.. i blew my exhaust manifold, snapped 2 bolts off the head holding the manifold, bent a few valves, and managed to pull a 15.3 @ 79 mph letting go of throttle in 3rd gear.
