Default motor mounts + high hp h22's

Any boosted ludes in here having problems with their stock motor mounts holding up due to the increase of power?

Anyone upgrade their motor mounts? or perhaps with urethane inserts?

I have already went through a couple mounts myself. I am getting inserts next week. First my front and rear, now just my front. So when I get the front replaced again I am adding Energy Inserts. Worth a shot! I can't find any aftermarket mounts available.

Just go get the polyurethane from Lowe's and do a DIY filled mount set. It'll cost you $5 and a few hours of your time.

its actually pretty easy, you have to boil down the urethane and then pour it into the mount(seal one side) and let it sit overnight or something, its not hard...

Not even that much.

Search on here in all forums for DIY Motor Mounts. It will explain it all. I believe you actually use a tube of roofing adhesive that is a black polyurethane, and when hardened is around 90A. You just remove mounts, tape up one side, squeeze in poly, let it dry, reinstall.

EDIT - Here's the link:

window weld is ok, but doesnt hold up in the heat too well(engine bay temps.) I window welded(??) my mounts and they lasted about 1 year and a half then started cracking. I might try that roofers urethane next.

Go with the energy suspension polyurethane motor mounts, they sell them on ebay like around $40 shipped. I want to get some but i've been laggin it. I heard they make a noticeable difference.

I've got the ES inserts on my Prelude right now and like them. They were less than $20 for me. Honestly, if you're not into taking a few hours for the job, this is a close-enough solution.

For MR2's, though, the same inserts run over $40-50.

are those mounts pictured on ebay with the bushing kits just for show or does it actually come with mounts as well. Secondly how hard is it to push out the factory rubber bushings. Lastly is there a factory replacement set of billet mounts just as an upgrade.

energy suspension makes good stuff. i replaced upper and lower control arm bushings in the front. great quality. i think its easier getting the old mounts out than getting the new ones in.

The increase in shaking isn't that bad, at least it wasn't bad at all for me when I got the inserts and removed the balance shaft belt.

Now the open header dumping right underneath me causes my throat to thump

I have es motor mount inserts, front and rear, and the balance shaft belt removed. The engine vibrates like a lonely housewife!! when its idling, i can visibly see the front bumper vibrating and everything rattles. it sucks. Maybe i overtorqued the motor mount bolts or something, but its really annoying. Im thinking about replacing mounts with new ones from honda and skipping the inserts.

The same here... Or at least I'll use only one mount insert set (front).
