Default 2000 Civic Ex B16 swap running rich smoking at high rpm!!

For some reason I'm running too rich. I'm getting black crap coming out of my muffler( looks like oil) and it smokes a dark color when I go at high rpms. Is there any fix for this? Thanks!

Check your spark plugs. Is it black and dry? Or black and oily? That's not the cure all end all mind you. Also, if the smoke coming out of your tailpipe is dark black, then it's better to be running rich on fuel. If the smoke has a bluish tint to it, well, you're burning oil somewhere and you should consider having a leakdown test done so you can figure out if it's the rings, valve guides, or anywhere else. Go from there.

I actually know it's not bad rings or anything like that because I just had my motor worked on. Maybe if I changed the spark plugs to ngk iridiums or denso would help? The smoke is dark black coming out of the tailpipe. Should I also lower my fuel pressure?

do not screw with fuel pressure for now. well, make sure its acurate by testing on the fuel rail. im sure you know how. my best advice would be to run a scan on your ecu. the computer will red flag anything that is totally off i.e. oil pressure, vtec switch etc. it will save you time and money.

Scanning the ecu sounds interesting. I've never done that before. How would you do that? Is it the same as running the engine codes?

DO not get this piece of ***** Denso Iridiums. Garbage plugs, had those on my H22 for a couple of months and after a couple of months they were all blacked up. NGK's went back on and outperformed the Denso's by far. Bunch of money wasted on some shitty *** plugs just stick with NGK.

this happen after swapped and first start it was like that? cause just recently swapped friends eg hatch with stock sohc to jdm b16 and first start up it smoked like that too. The plug on the back of the block(knock sensor or whatever it is) and the IAC plug were wrong. swapped them and bingo. cause there is those 3 2 wire clips that one of is a white clip thats ur air temp sensor which is known to go on that one cause there both white. try swapping the other 2 (one on iac and the other)
