I have a 99 Si with an 00 ITR motor in it and its making this sort of like clacking sound and has a shitty idle, but you only really hear the clack at idle, not so bad through the power range.and it dosn't sound like a rod knock. Is there any way I can diagnose a bent valve without removing the head?? Thanks in advance

 

All I can say is to do a compression check and see what numbers you get. If you get a real low number off from the others, then its a bent valve.

 

Ever have your valves adjusted?

 

i would start with adjusting the valves

 

yeah I adjusted my valve clearence today .006" for the intake and .008" for the exhaust, still runs like **** and in addition to the clacking sound it has like a gulping air swirling sound so it leads me to believe that one or more is bent and stayin open. I dont know, im going to pull the head in the morining, but anymore input would be well appriciated
