It's a JDM unit, the only way I got hold of a car deck from Japan was to have someone there buy it for me and ship it here. You can also have a friend who is tehre buy it and bring it back.

84,000 yen MSRP converts to approx $840 using the old 100 yen to 1 dollar conversion rate. It's most likely around $750 with today's rate. Pile on any customs fees, taxes, and shipping it'll probably run almost a grand.

isnt the frequencies in Japan slightly different than in the US... so you'll lose some stations toward the edges of the FM spectrum? thats what my friend told me... like im not exactly sure on this.. but you might lose the stations w/ the frequencies to the extremes.. ie.. 106.0 and say 87.1 or whatever... i dont listen to the radio much.. but just thought i'd point that out before you go and get to importing a JDM unit.....

Yes, you do lose some stations.

Those who buy JDM decks though don't care for the radio.

Same here cuz they don't play my fave music on mainstream radio. Found out they do on XM/Sirius.

You can get a FM band expander to use the radio if it's that important to you.

Personally, I like my Sony WX-7700MDX or the new Kenwood K-WD01
