gauge wiring

Default gauge wiring

hey guys. i just bought a voltmeter for my 93 civic ex and im trying to figure out where to wire it. negetive obviously goes to a ground, which is easy enough. but the power needs to go to a source that is "hot" when the key is on "accessory". so im a wiring coward and i dont want to expletive my car up so where and how do i wire it? help a brother out!! thanks.

you can hook it up to the blk/yel that is in the ignition switch harness under dash

Look for a 12 or 14 Gauge Yellow wire coming from the ingnition. That will be your best source for Accessory.

the yellow will also work (ignition #2) the black and yellow is your #1 ignition whatever

Use a wire Tap, you dont want to cut that wire if you dont have to.

is my cigarette lighter hot when the ignition is off? because my radar is not running all the time, and i have heard of people splicing their gauges there.
