Default Lure me in to the import side!

I plan on getting a 95 Integra Ls. I want to swap a b16 into the motor and go from there. How much can the pistons handle as far as boost? In all reality my goal is to be in the high 11 range. Ls/Vtec Turbo hitting high 11s what you guys think? Whats you all opinion on what to get and how much would i have to spend to reach my goal. Thanks for any input.

I don't know much much about ls/vtec but I thought I would let you know that there is a TON of info about it on this board. I have seen so many posts about it that I am sure you can find out anything you want. You just need to search ls vtec. Also be carefull around here because you are sure to get flamed on this boared if you ask a ? like that without searching first.
Good luck.

bro, how it would be nice to have another import head join the club, the choice is all up to you. your first mistake is asking for people to tell you what to buy. read up on here, look at the Garage and check out peoples rides.. read read read read and do some more reading. thats all i can tell you man.

there are so many honda/acura boards its pathetic.. but it also gives you alot if information.

these cars are 4 bangers, fwd 4 bangers.. but somewhat light weight fwd 4 bangers. mods is a must if you want to make these cars go fast.. and when you do and build it right and not do a hack job especially on the motor, you'll be running 10's or less at the track taking on a majority of v8's and even v10's...

Do you mean, you want to put a B16 head onto your LS block? Or do you want to swap an entire B16 into your Integra? If it's the latter, then it's not a good idea. The B18B that comes stock in there already lacks torque. The B16 has even less, and since the Integra is a heavier car, it would not be a good idea.

If you plan to do the former (LS/Vtec), then the possiblities go quite far. Do a search here on that and you'll find hundreds of posts to help you out. Start with the Integra FAQ at the top of this forum, as there are lots of LS/Vtec links in there.

The pistons/rods can handle about 280-320whp. The boost level is negligible, as you should know. It's not how much boost it can take, but rather how much power the engine can make.

As for what parts to get, you have to determine your budget and do some research to find what parts will suit your needs the best. Do you want a large turbo? Small turbo? Do you want to just purchase a kit, or go the custom route and pick and choose parts?

Note that high 11's are a bit hard to hit with stock internals. I've seen VERY low 12's before, but never high 11's on stock internals. Perhaps I'm wrong, but I haven't seen any in my day.
