where to purchase a TIG from and which one???
i need help. i woud like to buy a tig that is in the 1000-1600 $ range that can do it all; aluminum, stainless, mild etc... i will mostly be making manifolds, exhausts, intercooler tubing etc. i want to get a decent machine that will last me for years to come. which ones would you recomend for my price range and requirements. i was looking at ebay and saw some nice miller machines. would you recomend any place that sells welders at good prices?

The only downside to the eBay thing is the fact that if something goes wrong with the machine...Miller requires you to take it to the supplier you bought from...which would mean you would have to ship it back there. My local shop just matched the eBay price...see if yours will do the same.

My local shop would not
and they wanted $300 more then the other places. Plus they wanted me to pay for shipping.

I got my 180SD from my local shop for $1566.77. That was the price of the "non runner" package on eBay, but they gave me the runner package for that price!
