Default quaife steering rack

since quaife hasn't made a steering rack for 96-00 civics, i was thinkin it might work for people that are going to use the EG subframe for the k series swap.

i was readin honda tuning and it said hasport has mounts that necessitates the use of an EG subframe (ekk2), then that means that the quaife steerin should work.

i'm a noob at this part, so bare with me, but after lookin at this post https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1317231 it seems like it would work

can anyone verify this for me, thanks

There is a huge thread about it in the road racing forum. But in a nut shell, it shortens the number of turns from lock to lock. So basically if it takes 4 turns to go from all the way right to all the way left, the quaife steering rack will shorten that to 2-2 1/2 (this is just an example I don't know the exact numbers)

Benefits? It's really only for auto crossers/road racers. You will be able to turn the wheels with a lot less input at the steering wheel.

To the original poster, that is a good idea if it works.

true story, it will change it to just under 3 rotations lock 2 lock instead of 4. It takes much less effort if your not used to a manual rack.

Check out the link in the post above. This guy did a great job of laying the whole thing out.
