Quicker steering rack??
Hi guys,
I have a JDM DB8 type r, found my steering rack leaking alittle. Since I'm gonna swap it out, I'm wondering whether there is another Honda using a compatible (to ST7) steering rack which is faster lock to lock than my current one. It will be a nice bonus if the turning radius can be reduced at the same time.
But most desired result is to have a faster steering rack (lock to lock) which offer me the same steering feels.
So guys, any experience in this? Please advise.

The JDM ITR race base model had a quicker steering rack. It does not have power steering.
When I get the part number, I will try to order one from Honda. I'm not sure if they're still available though.

they might be sharing the same rack?</TD></TR></TABLE>
The SiRII has power steering. The JDM ITR race base steering rack was not available in any other car except for the race base ITR.

When I get the part number I'll let you know. I'll also let you know if they're still available.
I sure hope they're available.

Not yet, I'll update this thread as soon as I find the part number.
Also, I'll let you know if it is still available from Honda.

Quaife Steering Rack Gear kit.
Quick Ratio Steering Gear Kit for 92-95 Civic (non-power steering) and 94-01 Integra (Integra owners will need to obtain a complete 92-95 Civic manual steering rack, as this kit does not work on the stock Integra power rack!). The quick ratio rack and pinion gear set is perhaps the most underrated performance part around. The Quaife rack and pinion gears simply replace the existing pieces inside your stock steering rack housing. More rapid steering response is felt with an average of 25 percent reduction in ratio, resulting in approximately 3.1 turns lock-to-lock. (Stock 92-95 Civic is approximately 4.1 turns lock to lock) This translates into much quicker steering and turn in at the cost of a slight increase in effort. A must for autocross, drifting, and track work. Designed to fit manual steering racks only. Not for power steering.

So if I put in the Quaife steering rack will that make it easier to steer in parking lots and at low speeds. Or does it only redues the turns lock to lock. I currently have PS and I want to get rid of it. I am going to be going with an H22 swap...and I dont want to use PS.
Thanks
Thanks

It will not help that much, as it is nothing like a powersteering rack where the fluid is constantly being pushed/pulled throughout the rack. The reason is so hard to turn at mph's is when you turn, you're moving the fluid in the rack yourself, hence why it's called powersteering, being powered by the pump.
So intern, It might make it a little easier, but nothing of the sort of something with powersteering.
