Default info on d15b

i wanted to know some stuff about the jdm d15b vtec engine like

could i mate it up to a Si tranny?

if i where to buy parts would i have to import them from jap-land or could i like get parts for a 4g dx and it would fit on it sence there both d15's? are there alot of aftermarket parts or not?

could i use some of the parts from my dx or what?

would it be an easy install?

you can mate it up to an Si tranny. Whatever part you need I'm sure you can match it up to some (or any) D series engine.

i jsut swapped it in my 91 crx, it pulls harder than my pos d16a6. you need to get an obd1 conversion harness, and new 02 sensor and an obd1 dizzy... it ended up costin me a little less than 1000 dollas for the new motor ecu and the stuff i mentioned
however, i drove it for a week and now im getting a CEL 43... hmmm

Yes, it bolts right up.

No. The head from the jdm d15b vtec is the exact same as the d16z6 head, except the cam in the d15 is more aggressive than the z6 cam. So if you need any replacement parts for the head, like plug wires, buy them as if you were buying them for a z6. However, if you have a block problem, like you need a new crankshaft or something, the block of the d15b is the identical to that of the 92-95 vx civic.

Depends which parts you are talking about. You can use the alternator and flywheel come to mind instantly. Ask about what parts you are refering to.

Pretty straight drop in. You can use the dx motor mounts, keep the dx axles even if you switch over to the si transmission.

All the info you ever want to find this swap is a button away... the search button.
Let me give you a run down. You will need to convert from DPFI (dual point fuel injection) to MPFI (multi point). Then you will need to convert to obd-1 using a rywire.com harness. Then pray you dont have any codes.

p28 is an enginer computer (ECU). It is the stock ecu for the d16z6. They say to use the p28 ecu because the head of the z6 and d15b vtec are the exact same, same obd, etc. So use the p28. The ecu number should look something like: xxxxx P28 xxxx
