Default Integra theft rates?

I searched google and the forums and I found no clear responses to this, so don't bust my chops for posting this question. Also, if you've already read a similar thread, no need to click the title if you didn't want to respond unless you want to boost your post count with a 5 word response about using "search" .

Integras, apparantly, are the most commonly stolen vehicle. My question is this: what kinda stuff do YOU do to prevent yours from being stolen? IE: park where you can see it, alarms, etc. I know there may not be any specific things you can do to keep a determined theft away but I'd like to try my best.

Thanks for replies in advance, I appreciate your help/input.

Edit: this is posted here because I'm interested mainly in the Type-R, and I want to know what R owners do, not tegs in general

Don't get an R unless you have an alarm, garage and don't drive it places you shouldn't but seriously you need to search, it's been covered many times.

Edit: search is 5 letters not words.

depends on your location. Socal=high theft rate New hope Mn = low theft rate

but they are randomly taken from obscure locations too so don't count on that

Haha, quoted for posterity

Kill switches, or just break the **** so it doesn't run again. My car is in a garage 24/7.

In my neighborhood, I don't think I'd have a problem. But when I lived in Fort Worth, I'm surprised I never lost it, although the emblems were taken 2-3 times.

i recently moved to a new neighborhood about 15 miles from where i was to what i thought was a good location. the first night i park the car outside, i wake up to 2 kids standing around it. one had his r stolen from the same location and the other had his rsx type s broken into about a week ago. the car cannot be parked anywhere but a garage, not ever for 10 minutes.

Sorry, but if you're 18 and your only car is an ITR, it's going to be hard to keep it safe.

Funny I actually meant 5 words, as in:

Go use the search feature
Search for it instead newb
Haha go use the search

etc.

Thanks for the people who weren't idiots, and my question doesn't really involve search anyway. I'm specifically asking what YOU guys do for your cars, not what someone posted a list of.

Thanks for all the people with posts that were worth reading, I appreciate your responses. I'll check into alarms.

You mean the rest wen't worth reading? Also do you really think any of the ITR owners in here are going to post on a public forum what they do for security You really need to become aquanted with that little button that says search. I'll even help you yeild better results. When you search, click archived content, leave the creator field blank, select the Type-R forum and check post replies. If the wording your searching for doesn't yeild great results, reword it.

I'd think encasing it in a few cubic yards of cement would keep it from getting stolen, but its a bit impractical and might mess up the paint.

PS ... SEARCH!

:uh: Do you think the other threads in the ITR forum about security and theft prevention were hypothesizing what Ken Jennings or Dr. Phil might do for their ghetto sleds?

Honestly, to keep a Type R in your possession, you need to buy it for you. Not to impress your friends on Friday nights. Keep in mind that the more you show it off, the more opportunity you create for theft.

I've got nothing against performance shops, local car clubs and the like, but be careful.
