Default jdm d15b swap question

sup ht homies, i'm currently in the process of doing a swap on my 92 civic CX. any help would be greatly appreciated! i've narrowed it down to the following parts:

- jdm d15b sohc vtec longblock
- y8 tranny
- p28

is that all i need? this is going to be my first swap. can i rig the cx harness to work? i heard 92 non-vtec civics were pre-wired for vtec. one more question, since my tranny is apart, from the pic, can anyone tell me what i need to do before i hook the tranny onto the motor? i know i need a clutch/pressure/plate and flywheel.. should i change the rear seals or whatever? what i'm basically asking is what should i change/replace since the tranny is outside the car that would make life easier on myself later on.

If the tranny is in good working order and doesnt leak a drop from the differential or the case halves, dont bother with it. I recommend putting some grease on your differential seals to keep them soft while you await your build. If they harden up, they will leak. Just smear some grease on them, and bag the back of the thing with a plastic bag to keep out the dirt. But remember to wipe it off before you install your axles.

I cleaned out my tranny while it was sitting just incase.

Damn.. after your done the swap, do some suspension mods. That thing looks like an off-road special.

While the trans is out, replace the rear main seal. This is one of the cheapest parts that requires a lot of work to replace -unless you have the trans out.

You should also replace the release bearing and pilot bearing. This should come with any good clutch system that you would purchase, they come with all the Excedy clutches we offer from our website.

Like an above posted stated, unless something else is leaking from the trans -leave that part alone.

They are wired for vtec up to the shock tower harness. If the engine harness you are using isn't off a vtec motor you will need to run some wires from the clips on the vtec solenoid to the shock tower harness plug. I think there is two clips and three wires on the vtec solenoid. Pretty sure one of them is just a ground.

Here is a picture that explains it. Also note that you will have to convert your o2 sensor from a 1 wire to a four wire

Only the VX's were pre-wired for vtec, everything you need you will find on this Thread

Huh? What do you mean?

Maybe I should clarify what I was trying to say. All 92 civics were pre wired for vtec from the ecu to the shock tower plug regardless of model. So if you didn't want to do any wiring for vtec you would need an engine harness from a vx, ex, or si. But the vx has a 5 wire o2 plug so you would need to convert it to work with the p28 ecu.
