Default Problem need help....

Ok so here is the problem and yes i searched but i don't see any that fit whats wrong with my car. Ok my alternator belt squeals on and off all the time when its wet and sometimes when its not so i was gonna buy that belt its 13 bucs and change it. Well tonight my idle has been weird like every-time i turn on my light my car will make a weird little sound and my idle will be weird like my car even shut off tonight?

When my light are off tho it don't make that noise ...? do you think i need a new alternator? I think im gonna have it checked tomarrow and see whats up just want your guys opinions thanks... Dan

ya your car is not getting the needed voltage. you car should not die when you turn on the lights. It could either be your battery or alternator. If your alternator is bad then your car will run off your battery until it dies. I would suggest trying to change your battery first. If your alternator goes bad you will know. Trust me

first make sure the belt is tight. Second make sure the connection to the battery is good, not rusted out etc. Next get the alternator tested for free as CSK or something. Start from there

One day when I was driving my positive cable came off the battery and when I turned the headlights on the dash, cd player, and everything would shut off and the car would almost die. That's why I am voting it may be a bad battery connection?
