Default Noob to Honda Mods

Recently, I just purchased a 95 honda civic LX, The stock motor is a D15B8, I am very curious to what would be the best motor swap, Im kinda hoping a B18C1, or a K20 (ivtec), I know for a fact I want a DOHC, cuz right now im running a single.. and what all would i need to purchase for the final swap? Thank you

there is a link at the top of the forum about swaps, k20 swap is very difficult to do if you have never done a swap before, we can't tell you what the best swap would be until you tell us what your planning on doing with it, ie. turbo, N/A, nitrous?

No NOS, Turbo yes.. Its going to be asleep except for aftermarket rims.. the rest of the car is going to look about stock, my friend just put a b18 into a crx, and it hauls -_- but, I want to put something in a civic, that will give him a run for his money...

Basically Im saying, to fit a b18c1, into a d15 stock, what all would it take to do it? I know i would have to buy the conversion kits around 600$, and Ive heard that I would have to make custom cv axles, is this true? I hope not, I would rather much just buy them, knowing that I know absolutely nothing about motors, except the fact I want dual cams, not single.. I want speed and control... which goes with the suspension and brakes.. anymore info that would be useful?

there are many different ways you can beat your friends b18 so i sugest you search up on B or even H series engines and figure out for yourself what you think would be your best choice would be, if you just rush into buying an engine you might regret it later on,

Your car is going to be asleep? From your writing and lack of knowledge on anything Honda i suggest just read books about honda/ surfing the infinite pages of HT for knowledge then work on your car slowly with differnent upgrades from suspension to brakes. Then move into somthing difficult like a swap.

you dont need any conversion kits, you just mix and match motor mounts, add a few wires and use the b series axles.
