Tranny help PLEASE!
I swapped a b16 into my 90 crx. Before I put it in, I installed an Exedy stage 1 clutch kit. Everything seemed to be fine when I installed the throw out bearing, so I don't really understand whats going on. I have tried adjusting the cable all the way up, all the way down, and everywhere in between. I adjusted it as usual so when the clutch pedal is pushed down the arm on the tranny is all the way up. I can put it in every gear no prob when the car isnt running, but when its running it wont go into gear. If I put it in gear and try to start it the car it jumps forward. So, to me, the clutch isnt dis-engaging. What the hell did I do wrong? I know im probably gonna have to take out everything cause I can never get the tranny lined back up on the spline with the motor in the car :S
Thanks for any help!!

Move the cable around in the bay to tighten it up. If it moves at all around in the engine bay when you press the clutch in that it wasted energy that could be used to move the pressure plate. Secure the cable by either moving it securely below a few things in the engine bay or tie it to something. That was my problem was that there was so much wasted energy that the pressure plate wasnt disengaging the clutch all the way.
dont take the whole motor out. thats a waist. use a jack to get the tranny in place and muscle it in there. if you need help a second person wouldnt hurt. you must make sure that the tranny is level. It is a pain in the *** but its very posible
Ill try it with out taking everything out first, I just didnt know if I would have enough room with it being a b series in 2nd gen crx. I tried making sure the cable wasn't moving around too much but it really didnt make a difference cause the arm on the tranny is up as far as it can go when the pedal is pressed to the floor.
Basically I'm sure that it is inside the tranny that is the problem, but im wondering what it is. Only thing I can think it could be is the throwout/release bearing but its all brand new? I dont think you can put them in the wrong way can you? Theres no fluid in this right at the moment but I've moved a car around the yard with no tranny fluid in it before. I'd never drive one that is dry but this wouldnt be the prob right?
