Quick Axle Question
Hey guys i replaced my drivers side axle about a week ago, and when i did it, i thought it was all good to go, there was a little gap between the axle and where it connects on the inside, but i thought it'd be ok..
I was changing my oil today and im under there and i notice now theresa HUGE gap there, i slid it back in, but is there something your supposed to do to make this lock in place?

Was the little metal ring on the axle you installed? I hear some of the remanufactured ones don't come with that ring, which help to hold the halfshaft in place. There is a tiny little gap, I think the top part is flush with the tranny case, but the bottom part makes it appear as though there is a some space. As long as it's close and locked in place with that ring, it should be fine. You shouldn't be able to pull it out and push it in, it should be locked in place pretty well.
yes you have to really slam it in there.. you'll hear it click in when it actually locks.. you should NOT BE ABLE to pull it out with your hands.
try a few times.. you may think its locked, but sometimes it wont..

Yea i got it, the first time i thought it was locked, but when i was looking at it today i could easily slide it in and out, and i was messing with it and heard a click, then for the life of me couldnt slide it back out..
