Installing coilovers
sup everyone. i just got y coilovers in and the instrustions they gave me with them are kinda vague. i know alot of ppl here are more experianced than me with this as this is my first honda project. is there an easy way or a more safe way to install them?
No spring compressor-don't try it. Go to Autozone and rent it. You will also need the usual tools to to this reasonably easy project. Make sure that you have the Helm manual since it has the correct torque spec's for reassembling the suspension. You may want to soak all of the bolts with PB Blaster before starting the project.
A simple trick that you may want to use is to preset the perches (if they are sleeves-set the perch about 1/2 way or a bit lower. We set the perch height so that the car sits at ~5" when measured from the ground to the jack points on each side.

yeah you do. or you can just push them aside. removing them is not that hard and it's nice that the clips can be re-used.

You don't have to have a spring compressor or any special tools, well at least I didn't have to. I took mine off just fine without having to compress my springs on my 5th Gen...
