Default Turbo Potential?

Hi,

I may be purchasing a Honda Accord soon and was wondering if I turbo it, what kind of times could I run in the 1/4 mile with a turbo and bolt ons? The Accord would probably be 98+ 4 Cylinder.

Thanks guys.

Too many variables including the driver.

Depends on turbo size and selection, tuning, overall power etc. But a mild turbo setup on the f22b or f23 or whatever netting 200-220 whp should be around a mid 14 second car.

Go start throwing goodies on your car and find out .

it was a sad story for me......i never hit the 1/4.

what i can tell you, during the winter time i bumped into a 3.5 5spd altima, he had I/H/E and had just ran at the track....he pulled a 14.1....maybe a 14.2 1/4 mile time.....its been awhile so i'm not super sure, but it was a low 14.....anyways, long story short, from a stop...we were even through 1st, but once i had traction through 2nd i started to pull on him pretty good asme thing w/ 3rd, btw, the dude did pull the slip out for me to see :D. i also got to play with a stock MACH1(winter time).......he started to pull on me, but at that....it wasn't a hard pull either. dude thought i had done alot to be abl to hang w/ him , just a $2,000 DRAG Turbo kit @7psi. guy with the altima thought i was maybe in the 13.9's, but then agin....its all about the conditions and the driver. @7psi i was even with the newer GT's & Bullit stangs.

Just for god's sake get a manual and don't turbocharge an auto transmission, especially on a 6th gen.

A stock engine can take 10 lbs of boost and not whine, especially if you tune it properly with a good program.

my opinion is that if your going to be doing this make shure to get new pistons rods at the least maybr sleve the engine too the f23 has some pretty strong sleves as it is though

the ringlands will likely fail eventually and possibly ruin your sleves and the rods have a tendency to bust and shoot a pistons through oil pans

auto trannies just suck and on top of that the 6g accord auto trannys blow

im currently peicing together my kit but i will not install it untill i get some decent pistons and rods
