Civic popping out of gear?
Ok well my sister has a 99 or 00 civic. When you go in gear 1st, or second (idk about the rest) it will randomly pop out of gear. What could cause this? Is it a sever thing or a basic thing? Thanks.

well if its just first gear, only the first gear syncro would have to be replaced. but it requires taking apart the tranny tho.
cost wise... im not too sure, maybe someone more experienced can give you a ballpark range

It can also be something as simple as low tranny fluid. In my case thats what happened. I changed it with Pennzoil Synchomesh and it fixed the problem along with my 4th gear grind.
I believe bad or worn shift forks could be to blame. People riding the shifter, or holding it in gear, or pressure on the shifter alot. maybe bad syncros from bad shifting.
Try some synchromesh like mentioned from pennzoil or GM synchromesh from a dealership... if that doesn't work out your going to have to find a new trans, or have that one inspected and fixed in the neccesary spots. you could also have it rebuilt depends what you or her have to spend.
