can't get 22mm o2 sensor bolt off ... i think rusted
any ideas? i've got the 3 piece set from autozone that has the deep socket and the piece for the 1/2" and the 3/8" ... with my 94 civ ex .. the deep socket won't fit because the wrench is blocked by my fan ... so i used the 3/8" seems to not grip and go right around it ... thought it was turning but i guess it wasn't i let my engine warm for about 2 mins reved it a bit ... sprayed wd40 on it still nothing tried using the 1/2" one seemed like there was more resistance but still not turning ... my friend said to try some liquid wrench ... I've TRIED searching but search hasn't been working for almost 24 hours now
.. any suggestions? thanx guys

You need penitrating oil and maybe heat if the oil does not work! Are you using a O2 sensor socket?

You can get the penitrating oil at a automotive store, NAPS, Kragens, Autozone. And so on.

Take your fan off bro, it is always good to use the socket with penitrating oil, use the oil spray it like alot saturate it and tap it lightly then the next day break it free.
hey anyone have a post in their recent or saved topics about a diy on the fan removal so i can try and remove my o2 sensor tomorrow morning? i've got the haynes book but i love to compare and contrast my honda tech fellows' DIYs ... i'd search but search is STILL unavailable :-\ ... maybe they need me in their IT dept O:-) ... hehe well anyway much appreciated if anyone would help me out .. thanx
ok i woke up early to try and get this done cuz i wanted to head out to danbury,ct today... so i think i've stripped the bolt
... so not cool ... it's so damn tight i've sprayed tons of wd40 ... i can't make it to the hardware store to get any pb blaster ... i don't think that'll even work now ... there's so little resistance ... anyway im severly screwed ... is there any other way to get the o2 sensor off? i'm scared to cut the wires cuz even then if i can't get the bolt off i won't be able to drive my car cuz there'll be no o2 sensor AT ALL even though mine's causing a CEL 41 code ... (o2 sensor heater) ... any suggestions from a desperate dutchess county civic owner ? thanx

hey looking at my new o2 sensor i see the whole piece is connected ... has anyone removed the o2 sensor by using vicegrips around the part of the o2 sensor that's sticking out ? i'd have to find someway to make it have a solid grip but that's an idea ... any auggestions guys?

you can get PB blaster (penetrating lube) at any Wal Mart... if that helps...
get your car HOT not just idling for 2 min, that also will help. And when you re-install it use some anti-seize (also available at Wal Mart, etc...) so it doesn't rust in place again.

def stripped ... any ideas? should i try n break off the o2 sensor and tap bolt out the rest of the o2 ? it's gettin late and it's a sunday stores gonna be closing soon :-\
one way would be to weld a bolt on top of the o2 sensor and take it out that way but that's if you have a welder... otherwise, you can try and beat a smaller size socket (maybe 21mm or even an SAE socket) on top of the o2 sensor one and take it out that way...
i would cut the sensor with a saw saw so it doesn't get in the way since you'll be replacing it anyway
good luck!
